Short and long-term individual psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults and parents: The length of therapy can depend on the presenting issues and treatment plan, which may be revised as the work progresses. Psychotherapy is suited when there are complex or core issues which need to be resolved.

 

Family therapy: I can provide guidance and facilitate work around family relationships and dynamics. Working with the family as part of a wider system can lead to long lasting benefits for all involved.

 

Parent-child/adolescent therapy: I provide therapeutic support between parent/s and their children which can enable increased joint understanding.  Sometimes relationships become stuck, so having warm, non-judgemental facilitation provides an environment where repair and progress become possible.

 

Group therapy for children and adolescents: It can be extremely useful for young people to share and learn within the environment of a safe group. The groups that I run provide a nurturing and calming situation in which to explore thoughts, feelings and experiences. Group therapy can also be a more cost-effective solution for schools.

 

Arts and play therapy: Sometimes thoughts and feelings are too complex to express through words alone.  Therapeutic play and use of the arts can be an effective way for enabling communication to take place. For many, the process of creating can be healing.

 

Counselling: It can be helpful to discuss a particular problem or issue in a safe and supportive space. I offer counselling in addition to psychotherapy, and this can be useful for less deep-rooted issues.
